At Whitehead Storehouse, we often pause at Harvest time to give thanks to the local churches for their generous and much-valued support. That moment of gratitude is always important to us—but recently, we were reflecting and realised something equally important.
Support for the Storehouse doesn’t just happen once a year.
It continues quietly, steadily, and generously throughout the year—and it’s time we said a very special thank you to everyone who makes that possible.
We are deeply grateful to the many big-hearted individuals who support us in different ways. Some make regular bank donations or set up standing orders. Others give cash contributions through the Community Centre. Many people thoughtfully leave essential food items at collection points in the Community Centre, at local shops such as Spar in Whitehead and Islandmagee, and within the churches.
We also receive vouchers for local shops, which can make a real and immediate difference when fresh items are needed.
Each of these contributions—whether large or small, regular or occasional—plays an important part in helping us continue our work. They ensure that support is available when it’s needed, and they help us respond flexibly to the needs within our community.
It’s often the quiet, unseen acts of kindness that keep something like the Storehouse running day by day. While not every donation is visible, every single one is appreciated.
So today, we simply want to say thank you.
Thank you for your generosity.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness.
And thank you for being part of a community that looks out for one another.
